The Porsche Classic Communication Management Plus (PCCM Plus) accessory is now available as a retrofit for the Porsche 911, Cayman and Boxster models produced from 2009 to 2016. The PCCM Plus system has a period-correct look and offers navigation, smartphone connectivity and other modern infotainment features in older “future classic” cars.
The PCCM Plus package includes a 7-inch touchscreen display with physical buttons and integrated on-board satellite navigation. The infotainment system supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, Bluetooth and digital radio. YouTube videos can be played on the screen while the car is stationary. It also gets a ‘Scenic Roads’ navigation function that suggests “winding panoramic routes” for maximised fun behind the wheel.
The infotainment system, Porsche says, is “seamlessly integrated into the vehicle architecture”, which enables vehicle functions to be operated via the 7-inch touchscreen or steering wheel-mounted buttons. This enables features like turn-by-turn navigation instructions and music tracks to be displayed on the instrument cluster MID too.
Notably, the PCCM Plus system is not new for the manufacturer’s classic cars. What’s new is that Porsche has expanded the programme to the facelifted second- and third-generation Boxster and Cayman (987.2 and 981), facelifted sixth-generation 911 (997.2) and first-phase seventh-generation 911 (991.1). Earlier, this system was available only on the first-generation Cayenne (E1), fifth- and sixth-generation 911 (996 and 997.1) and first- and second-generation Boxster and Cayman (986 and 987.1) models.
