Honda ADV160 launched at Rs 1.70 lakh

Share

After the big July unveil, Honda today revealed the prices for its upcoming ADV160 scooter and opened bookings nationwide. The ADV160 will be available through both Honda RedWing and BigWing showrooms, making the scooter accessible to a large number of people. Deliveries will commence in October this year.

  1. Gets a single flex-fuel variant; can run on up to E85 fuel
  2. Segment-leading 27L underseat storage, 5-inch colour TFT display
  3. Has traction control and single-channel ABS

Powered by a 156.93cc liquid-cooled engine

Features a new 5-inch TFT display

Honda has confirmed that the ADV160 will only be sold in the flex-fuel guise, offering compatibility up to E85. This makes the ADV160 the first flex-fuel scooter to be sold in India. Powering the adventure-styled scooter is a new 156.93cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine, but power and torque figures are yet to be confirmed for India. Outside the country, the ADV160 makes 16.3hp and 14.9Nm of torque. Other key details include 27 litres of underseat storage, a new 5-inch TFT display enabling Honda RoadSync connectivity, Honda Selectable Torque Control (traction control), dual disc brakes, single-channel ABS and USB charging as standard.

The ADV160 is priced at Rs 1,70,000 (ex-showroom, Bengaluru). As we had reported, the ADV160 is being built locally, which has helped its market positioning. Although the ADV160 is pricier than its competitors, including the Hero Xoom 160 and Yamaha Aerox 155, it offers more features, such as the TFT display, more power and larger underseat storage space. Bookings can be made now for Rs 5,000 on Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India’s website and via any RedWing or BigWing showroom.
