Hero MotoCorp has launched the Hero Super Splendor XTEC 2.0 with minor styling revisions and a few added features. The motorcycle is one of several models based on Hero’s 125cc platform, which also underpins the Glamour, Glamour X and Xtreme 125R.
The Super Splendor XTEC 2.0 continues to use the same 124.7cc single-cylinder engine, producing 10.7hp at 7,500rpm and 10.6Nm at 6,000rpm. That said, Hero now claims a fuel efficiency of 72kpl, up from 68kpl for the current Super Splendor XTEC.
According to the manufacturer, technologies such as its Advanced Programmed Fuel Injection (APFI) system and i3S idle stop-start system contribute to the improved efficiency figures, although both were already available on the outgoing model.
On the features front, the XTEC 2.0 appears to carry on the same digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity and a USB Type-C charging port. The key addition, however, is the introduction of hazard lights to the Super Splendor range.
Styling updates include dual-tone graphics, XTEC 2.0 badging, a 3D emblem, a stitched dual-textured seat and rim tapes. The motorcycle is available in five colour options – Glossy Black, Candy Blazing Red, Matt Axis Grey, Matt Nexus Blue and Matt Chestnut Brown.
At Rs 86,500 (ex-showroom, Delhi), the XTEC 2.0 is also slightly more affordable than the current Super Splendor XTEC with the front disc brake, which is priced at Rs 88,044.
