Ampere Xyber: What’s new?

The Xyber will be Ampere’s first motorcycle

The patented design appears to retain the angular, streetfighter-inspired styling of the concept, which featured 17-inch alloy wheels, disc brakes at both ends and ABS.

When it was unveiled, Ampere said the Xyber would be powered by a 10kW electric motor and have a claimed top speed of 100kph. The company also claimed a range of up to 200km on a full charge, although it did not reveal the battery capacity.

The Xyber uses an LFP battery and was said to support both AC and DC fast charging. Ampere is yet to confirm whether these specifications will make it to the production version.

The company had described the Xyber as an early prototype when it was first shown, with the production version still some way away. The patent indicates that development is continuing, although Ampere has not yet announced a launch timeline.
