Triumph Tiger 900 special editions: What’s new?

The Alpine Edition is the more road- and touring-focused model of the two.

Both motorcycles are based on the latest Tiger 900 platform and receive distinct styling themes, along with a range of factory-fitted accessories. The Tiger 900 Alpine Edition is the more road- and touring-focused model of the two. Based on the GT Pro, it features a Snowdonia White and Sapphire Black paint scheme with blue accents, touring-oriented detailing and an Akrapovic exhaust.

Meanwhile, the Tiger 900 Desert Edition is based on the Rally Pro and adopts a more rugged, off-road-oriented character. It gets Baja Orange highlights, additional protective equipment, adventure-focused styling elements and an Akrapovic silencer.

Powering both motorcycles is Triumph’s 888cc inline three-cylinder liquid-cooled T-Plane engine producing 108hp at 9,500rpm and 90Nm at 6,850rpm. The engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox and bi-directional quickshifter.

The pricing strategy for the two special editions is rather interesting. The Tiger 900 Alpine Edition, based on the GT Pro variant, commands a Rs 95,000 premium over the standard GT available in India. However, the more rugged Tiger 900 Desert Edition is actually priced Rs 10,000 lower than the Rally Pro donor model despite receiving unique styling, added protective equipment and an Akrapovic exhaust.

The Tiger 900 range continues to feature premium suspension hardware, TFT instrumentation, multiple riding modes and an extensive electronics suite. These two new editions have been launched here alongside Triumph’s refreshed Bonneville range and other global reveals, including the Street Triple 765 RX and Speed Twin 1200 RS Cafe Racer Edition.
