Citroen has launched the updated eC3 EV, calling it the eC3X, with prices starting from Rs 10.25 lakh (ex-showroom) – Rs 1.74 lakh lower than the outgoing model. It is also offering a battery-as-a-service (BaaS) scheme, which reduces the hatchback’s upfront cost to Rs 6.29 lakh while charging a battery rental fee of Rs 2.26 per km. The 2026 eC3X, which gets a refreshed exterior and interior, along with added convenience features, is available in three variants: Live, Live (O) and Shine.
Changes on the 2026 eC3X include new projector LED headlights from the ICE-powered model, redesigned 15-inch dual-tone alloy wheels and electrically adjustable and foldable outside rearview mirrors (ORVMs). The EV continues with V-shaped LED daytime running lamps (DRLs), LED tail-lights, black cladding on the wheel arches and body and halogen front fog lamps. Both the front and rear bumper designs are also identical and feature faux silver skid plates.
While the dashboard layout is the same as that of the older model, the 2026 eC3X has a new dual-tone blue-and-beige cabin theme. The seats are now finished in leatherette – a considerable upgrade from the previously available fabric upholstery.
Citroen has also equipped the 2026 eC3X with a new 7-inch coloured digital driver’s display, an auto-dimming inside rearview mirror (IRVM), a dashcam, a 6-speaker JBL audio system (2 more speakers than before) and a wireless phone charger. Notably, the dashcam and JBL speakers are fitted as accessories. The number of airbags has gone up to 6 in the top-end variant and 4 in the lower variants, whereas the previous model came with only dual airbags. The EV carries over a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, manual AC, a rear wiper and a rear parking camera with sensors.
The 2026 eC3X comes with a 29.2kWh battery pack with a claimed MIDC range of 325km, which is 79km more than before. The battery is mated to a front-axle-mounted electric motor that produces 57hp and 143Nm, and the setup is claimed to propel the EV from a standstill to 60kph in 6.8 seconds, before maxing out at 107kph.
An AC charger can recharge the eC3X from 10 to 100 percent in 10 hours and 30 minutes, while a DC fast charger takes 57 minutes for a 10-80 percent top-up. The Citroen eC3X continues to lock horns with the Tata Tiago EV and MG Comet.
